GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This week's featured adoptable pets from the Kent County Animal Shelter are two happy dogs.
Raindrop is a 4-year-old American Staffordshire terrier. Shelter Director Angela Hollinshead said she likes the car and loves tennis balls.
"If you're active and you like to walk and go to the park, she'd be a great companion for you," Hollinshead said. "She's still got a lot of puppy and a lot of play in her. She's very smart."
In the News 8 studio Friday, Raindrop was very attentive to the treats in Hollinshead's hand and showed that she knows how to sit. Hollinshead said she knew that command when she showed up at the shelter, left in the parking lot.
Or you can choose Oprah, a 3-year-old American Staffordshire terrier who has been at the shelter for about five months. At about 40 pounds, the shelter says she is a "pint-sized package" with the "perfect mix of sassy, fun, adventurous, and snuggly."
"If her adorable pictures aren't evidence enough of the big personality this little dog has, we don't know what else will," the shelter said.

She gets along with other dogs and new people, though some of her personality takes a while to come out with new humans. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations.
