GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This week's featured adoptable pets from the Kent County Shelter are two sweet dogs who want a family.

Aggie is a 5-year-old beagle who is "very sweet, very loving," shelter director Angela Hollinshead said. She is calm and even-tempered, but Hollinshead also noted she is "very vocal."

"She loves to ride in the car. She had a really good time on the way over here," Hollinshead said in the WOOD TV8 studio Friday.

The robotic cameras in the studio made Aggie a little nervous, but she wagged her tail for treats and pets.

Aggie is fixed and up to date on her shots. She's full grown at 30 pounds.

Or you could choose Hannah, a 2-year-old American Staffordshire terrier who is "full of personality," the shelter says. A volunteer who took her on a "field trip" last weekend said she can be nervous at first, but generally warms up to people very quickly and then likes to be in their space.

"(S)he will make herself at home and refuse to get off of the couch to go back to the shelter because she just wants to stay and be pet and play with her stuffed animals all day long," the shelter said.

For more information on adopting any pet from KCAS, visit the organization’s website or call 616.632.7300.

The shelter is over capacity with 87 dogs right now, Hollinshead said. Through Oct. 22, all dog adoptions at the Kent County Animal Shelter are $50, including a license, spaying or neutering, vaccinations and microchipping.
