GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This week’s featured adoptable dogs from the Kent County Animal Shelter are two dogs looking for their fur-ever homes.
Angie is a 4-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix that her foster family says is a "dream to foster."
The foster family told the shelter that she has "perfect manners and knows several commands such as 'sit' and 'stay.' She's very well-behaved around food, (with) no begging at the table. She has never had an accident in the house and even goes to the far corners of the yard to do her business. She rarely barks - she's quiet even when the doorbell rings."
Angie loves to be around people and enjoys looking out the window at the birds and squirrels in the yard.
"She matches her energy level to her people - loves walks and hikes but can also easily chill on the couch with a movie. She plays fetch a little bit and loves zoomies around the yard," the foster family told the shelter.
Angie has been featured twice on WOOD TV8's pet of the week.
Charlie is a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix that is ready to get out of the stressful environment at the shelter. He is a mellow dog who loves to play and spend time with his person or family.
He recently went home with a volunteer for a few nights. The volunteer said that he quickly learned the house rules and basic commands.
"Please, if you are looking for a dog to be your best friend go and meet Charlie and give him a loving home. He deserves it," the volunteer told the shelter.
