First meet Rocky. He’s a 9-month-old Laborador retriever mix who arrived at the Kent County Animal Shelter when his owner could no longer care for him.

Shelter workers say Rocky is a joy to be around, with a hilarious personality. He would fair best in an active home with an owner willing to train him.

Next is Spike – a 4-year-old Stafforshire terrier mix who was found as a stray. KCAS says Spike is a big goofball who still acts like a puppy, cuddling and playing with toys as much as possible.

Shelter workers say Spike would probably fair best in a home with no other dogs. A Pleasant Dog is offering a free training session to whoever takes him home.

Both dogs will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and licensed upon adoption.
