GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This week's featured adoptable pets from the Kent County Animal Shelter are an energetic young dog and an affectionate cat.
Wilder, a 1-year-old, 45-pound American Staffordshire terrier, is described as well-rounded and "super social," a pup who loves to meet new people. He even got to visit GLC Live at 20 Monroe and meet the musical group Band of Horses. Staff members with the shelter say Wilder is full of energy, so he would enjoy an active family that can walk him and play with him often.
If you're more of a cat person, 5-year-old S'more could be the perfect companion for you. Though he didn't adjust well to the shelter, staff members say the domestic shorthair became a "whole new man" in foster care. His foster parent says S'more loves the company of people he trusts and would do well in a home where he can get attention from people who understand cats' body language. He enjoys cuddling, purring, playing with wand toys and eating meals.
"He’s really just a big lug and is quite the entertaining and talkative character," his foster parent said.
