GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Meet Ester and Polar, this week’s featured pets of the week from the Kent County Animal Shelter.
Ester is a 6-year-old Chihuahua-terrier mix, who came to the Kent County Animal Shelter as a stray. She may take a bit to warm up to you, but she is as sweet and snuggly as can be once she does.
Polar is a 2-year-old American Staffordshire terrier mix. He came to the shelter after his family could no longer take care of him. He loves interacting with people and loves it when people pet him.

Polar will need to be vaccinated, micro-chipped and neutered before his new family can take him home.
Both Ester and Polar, along with the other the other pets at the Kent County Animal Shelter, can be adopted for free on Saturday, April 25.
The free adoptions come thanks to a grant from the BISSELL Pet Foundation.
While the adoptions are free, owners will need to purchase a $12 license for each new pet.
