GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This week's featured adoptable dogs from the Kent County Animal Shelter are an energetic guy and an adorable girl.
Cucumber is a 3-year-old American Staffordshire terrier. She came to the shelter as a stray about a month ago, but her owners were never found, so she's now up for adoption. She knows how to sit on command and loves treats.
"Everybody at the shelter loves her. She's very social, she's very friendly," shelter director Angela Hollinshead said. "She's just a good dog."
Hollinshead added that Cucumber is "laid back" and "mellow" and likes to snuggle. In the News 8 studio Friday, she wagged her tail for treats and then laid down to relax.

Lucki, a 2-year-old boxer mix, is always ready for fun. He would love to go hiking, running or cycling with you.
"Lucki would like to get lots of exercise every day!" the shelter said.

The shelter has nearly 80 dogs right now, Hollinshead said, so there are plenty of options to choose from. For more information on adopting any pet from KCAS, visit the organization’s website or call 616.632.7300.
