GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This week’s featured adoptable pets from the Kent County Animal Shelter are an outgoing dog and a calm hen.
Hennifer Gardener is an adult Barred Rock chicken. She was brought to the animal shelter as a stray.

Shelter staff hopes that someone will adopt Hennifer and add her to their existing flock.
Sandy is a 4-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She was found in October underweight and overbread. The shelter said she was very nervous and took a while to come around. Once she did, she turned into an outgoing and confident pup.

"KCAS is so happy to have been a part of Sandy finding her true personality, but as much as they love this sweet girl, they want her to experience a REAL home," the shelter said in a statement. "From living on the streets to living in a shelter, Sandy is more than ready for a cozy, consistent doggy life..."
