GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This week’s featured adoptable pets from the Kent County Animal Shelter are a friendly cat and a lovable dog.
Tomato is a 2-year-old domestic shorthair that loves to greet people at the shelter. She came into the shelter as a stray. She's since been vaccinated and spayed. She is small for her age, so shelter staff is working to help her put on weight with soft foods and treats.
Ricky is a 2-year-old cattle dog mix with energy to spare. His family went through some rough times and could no longer keep him, so he was brought to the shelter. The shelter said he was pretty scared at first but quickly realized there were friends at the shelter.
He knows basic commands like sit, shake and speak. The shelter said that he's eager to learn.
