GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This week’s featured adoptable pets from the Kent County Animal Shelter are two playful pets waiting for their fur-ever homes.

Millie is a 4-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier that has been waiting to go home six months. The shelter said that Millie was scared when she first came to the shelter but staff members have been working with her to grow her confidence.

She loves to snuggle, play with toys and sniff for treats. The shelter said she likes to spend time in the "training room" where she enjoys sniffing for treats in a kiddie pool full of toys. While she waits to go home and be the only dog in the family, she has her suite away from the kennels because they can be too stressful for her. The shelter's staff can frequently hear her squeaking her toy.

Magnolia is a 2-year-old domestic shorthair that loves to play with her favorite toy mice and dart at anything that moves. The shelter said that she can be quite bossy with the other cats and would enjoy a home to herself. When playtime is over, she loves a good head scratch.
